Hydrographic printing, also known as water transfer printing, is a unique process that adds visual appeal to three-dimensional surfaces. Transfer printing can be widely found on automotive interior parts with a woodgrain pattern, furniture, cell phone cases and water bottles.
The process begins with a pattern, such as camouflage, woodgrain or carbon fiber, printed on our water-soluble, dimensionally stable MonoSol film through a gravure or other technique. Subsequent to printing the desired pattern on our MonoSol film, three-dimensional objects can be dipped into the floating printed film so the ink pattern transfers on the object as the film dissolves away.
Our films are robust and durable, providing rich color transfer, low pattern distortion and multi-color printing capability, while also enabling easy three-dimensional printing. MonoSol partners in the United States with experts that specialize in providing turnkey solutions to customize your patterns digitally without licensing fees while delivering “on demand” versus historically long industry lead times – helping you every step of the way. Let’s discuss how we can help with your next project.
